Review of The Karate Kid (2010) by Jeff T — 03 Jun 2012
I saw this last night and just thought I was great. Jayden's age throws off the training sequences a little bit, but me and everyone else in the theatre seemed content to overlook the fact that he's 12. Jayden at times does a look and looks exactly like his father; Jayden has impeccable comedic timing and takes the reins of the movie very well.
The fact that 6 boys who are aroun Jayden's age fight Jackie Chan when he comes to Jayden's rescue was a little unbelievable, these kids would attack an adult? OK..... But Jackie isn't scared to play a secondary role and he teaches Jayden well, becoming a support character and (what I feel) is a really relateable character in this film.
I can only recommend this movie. At times the whole theatre was either laughing together or literally applauding at certain points points to the fact that when it comes down to it- it's a good movie, it's a fun movie, and it just (pardon the expression) kicks ass. It kept me laughing, cheering, and saying "OH CRAP!" whenever a punch was landed.
Please go watch this.
