A movie with an inappropriately named title to attract the dimwits like me. Karate - a Japanese martial art, is nowhere featured in this film. Jackie Chan, a Chinese man, teaches Kung Fu to the Karate Kid. Whaaaat? They basically wanted to make a martial arts movie but simply tacked on an old title to ensure their investment got some return.
The movie was OK I guess. It had all the right elements for a Westerner-learning-martial-arts movie. The fact Karate was never used in a movie featuring a kid and called "The Karate Kid" is baffling.
