Review of The Karate Kid (1984) by Troy F — 19 Jun 2010
This is very classic! A boy who moves to California immediately meets a girl he likes, while making enemies with a group of boys, who beat him up. He is saved one night from a beating by the maintenance man of his apartment place, who becomes his teacher of karate.
This man teaches the kid to become a karate master through some very clever techniques for him to gain him the strength to fight defensively. Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita were great in this movie, and while the remake is great, this original great masterpiece is one that's tough to beat.
