Review of The Jungle Book 2 (2003) by David G — 12 Mar 2012
Ever since I first saw it in the theaters with my mom, I have fallen in love with this rare Disney sequel that actually lives up to its name. When I saw the first one during my growing up years, it always made me sad when Mowgli left the jungle and was last seen following the Indian girl into the man village.
Thus, I was always left wondering, what happens to him? Does he adapt to the village, or does he eventually return to the jungle? After years of being held in suspense, all of my questions were finally answered in The Jungle Book 2.
Dispite Mowgli's and Baloo's voices having changed a bit since the first one, the film really pulls itself together as the plot develops from the moment Mowgli considers leaving the village, to the final duel to the death with Shere Khan, and to the heart warming ending.
Call me sentimental; call me a kid at heart; But I will always treasure this movie for years to come.
