Review of The Jungle Book (1994) by Bikerjames — 17 Apr 2016
First it was all the Princess movies. Now Disney is cashing in by making live action films of all their old animated classics. I enjoyed this remake, although I still think the original fully animated film has more charm.
This is a darker version, and in fact some of the sequences may be too much for young children. The boy who plays the lead, Neel Sethi, does a fine job and does not overact like so many children his age tends to do.
The visuals are the true star of the picture. Animation keeps getting more and more detailed as time goes on which can create controversy. If it is too realistic looking, you don't even feel you're watching an animated film anymore.
The voice-over work is also fine across the board. Overall a winner.
