Review of The Jungle Book (1994) by Morninstar — 16 Apr 2016
Well, that took you down nostalgia lane, didn't it? I am one of those people who grew up on the Jungle Book cartoons, although I watched them in Hindi(chaddi pehen ke phool khila hai :P), but all the great characters I remembered were all there.
The best one though, Bill Murray as Baloo, hands down. He was snappy, he was funny, he was Baloo as I knew him. And I guess I don't have to say anything about Idris Elba as Shere Khan. You put the guy in anything, it becomes good automatically.
Case in point, Pacific Rim(people who've watched it know what I'm talking about). The story was good, the execution was good, and Neel Sethi was amazing as Mowgli. Just keeping in mind that nothing around him was, well, actually there, he did a terrific job.
To summarize, get off your butts and go watch the movie, in 3D, because that's where the fun lies.
