In a time where superheroes and epics reign supreme, it seems the character dramas have disappeared. With Robert Downey Jr. being the king at Marvel, it was a surprise to heat he was going back to films about people.
The Judge was not the most original premise, but what it took was some of the best performances I had ever seen. Robert Duvall, who has been in the shadows for years, returns to give one of the most heartfelt, genuine and powerful performances of his career.
Back with a story that slowly unfolds and shows how a family can become so lost was a brilliant touch. While the film plays on the clichà (C)s of drama of families, the cast really took it to a whole other level.
The interaction between RDJ and Robert Duvall is gripping to watch and really hits home with the audience.
