Review of The Judge (2014) by Tony Raul G — 19 Feb 2015
What the fuck, seriously What the fuck?!?!? Forgive my language but seriously WTF doesn't even begin to describe the indignation I feel for this movie. How the hell is it not universally praised!?!?! F You and your stupid, IT'S CLICHED.
Shut up, seriously shut up. I hate that stupid review sentence. Did you enjoy it? The answer is yes on most of these reviews but for some reason the RT people who are responsible to deciding if it's a splat or not dropped the ball again.
This would be closer to 70 if those people actually read the whole review rather than just the byline. But I digress. Wow, what a movie. RDJ is absolutely exhilarating here. Robert Duvall shows once again why he is a master of his craft.
He is amazing and I am so glad he got nominated. David Dobkin is known for comedy but he does have a flair for the dramatic. I'll put it to you like this, if The Judge had been released during the John Grisham movie influx in the early 90s, this would've been on top of the heap.
The fact that it came out 20 years too late shouldn't hurt it, but it did. Hence the "Cliché" Cliché. Just so everyone remembers, I am NOT a critic. I am a movie lover and I love this movie.
