Review of The Judge (2014) by James D — 23 Feb 2015
A tour de force of acting from Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall, but not to be outdone, the supporting cast here is just as brilliant on the screen. The entire cast is star studded, and the emotion, rawness, and comparability between characters is untouchable.
You feel what they feel, you get sucked into the story, and the film flies by. The directing is great here as well, it's a film that was well done all around, I really can't say too much about it, I will be adding it to my collection and will watch it over again.
The story is pretty straight forward, and it's fine because it works well, and it doesn't need to be any more elaborate than it current,y is. Jump onto your couch and enjoy this one, I understand Duvall's nod for a Oscar nomination, but surprised RDJ didn't get one too.
4/5 JD.
