Review of The Judge (2014) by Tom H — 07 Mar 2015
An extremely well-made family-oriented drama. It's not quite a courtroom drama drama, but certainly has aspects of it (with limited use of Thornton & Shepard). The main focus is on Hank (Downey Jnr), his brothers (D'Onofrio & Strong) & their dad (Duvall) - the judge accused of vehicular murder.
It all unfolds expertly, has great use of songs and scenery (in Indiana) and a fitting conclusion. Farmiga's also good, but RDJ really does put on a masterclass here - well worth it just for some of his & Duvall's scenes.
