Review of The Judge (2014) by Eric R — 28 Jul 2015
Very good, touching movie about families and relationships. At nearly 2 1/2 hours long, I was worried it would be dull, but it kept a solid pace all along and was engaging. There are lots of tough scenes that probably resonate with lots of families about intra-family dynamics, growing old, etc.
Very strong performances by both Robert Duvall and Robert Downey Jr. I think they probably could have cut a couple of plot lines (maybe his daughter and his high school romance) without really hurting the movie.
But, overall, very good.
