The director may have they done an amazing job with wedding crashers, but he did a horrible job with the judge. while the script carries some of the blame, most of the blame rests with terrible choices by the director. From a score that belongs in another movie, to strange moments of comedy that make no sense in this film.
The actors are all a-list, but they are completely wasted in this movie. They deserved better.
