"I like being tragic, Ma. I learned it from you". although I adore Amy Tan's writing, I was completely blown away by the film. all the women's heart-wrenching tales of survival and love (with insightful performances from the likes of one of my favorites Rosalind Chao) turned out more powerful on the big screen.
no daughter or mother will not see herself in one of the characters here.
