Review of The Jerk (1979) by Landen C — 28 Mar 2008

There aren't many comedies like this that work, that are both self-aware yet 100% completely committed to its characters so as not to make them caricatures. In that sense I would compare it to more recent films like Anchorman, but the styles of humor are slightly different.

There's a reason why it's on AFI's top 100 Laughs list... though in my opinion it should be higher than #89.
