Review of The Jerk (1979) by Loyal D — 08 Aug 2013
This movie is a dry comedy. It may have been classic 34 years ago but It doesn't have the charisma and uniqueness that I had thought it would have. Is it a classic comedy? Sure. Is it dry and drag on for too long? Sure.
Was the one-liners and witty acting of Steve Martin good enough to make it worth watching? Sure, but that's about all you'll get out of it. Maybe my expectations were too high from all the good things I've heard about it but I definately can't see how this comedy is the poster child of 70's comedy.
It was original atleast but 34 years later it seems cookie cutter to me.
