Usually I enjoy Steve Martin, but this movie was just obnoxious. dimwitted slapstick with very little charm and subtlety. some definite quotable quotes, and Bernadette Peters gives a performance reminiscent of classic Madeline Kahn.
clever and amusing retelling of the classic American rags-to-riches story, but the humour just didn't cut it for me.
