The Jerk is a 1979 American rags-to-riches-to-rags comedy film of belated self-discovery.
This Film is mostly just alot of perdictable hit and miss gags. The Plot is very simplistic, but it offer's nothing new or fresh to it, the pace from event to event is slowed down.
Overall "The Jerk" is just a tired old comedy, while not without a few moments of hilarity, it does serve well as the first starring role for Steve Martin.
