Review of The Jane Austen Book Club (2007) by Laura G — 26 Sep 2008
I've never read the book, 'cause the title seemed too pretentious, but I liked this movie very much.
The characters are strong, and it's interesting how the similarities between some of them and Austen's characters are subtle . Though I recognized right away Emma, Marianne Dashwood and Elizabeth Bennet, some other characters were discovered for me as the movie went by.
This movie is so lovely, I wish I had a book club like that.
Honorific mention to Emily Blunt for a great performance.
