Review of The Jane Austen Book Club (2007) by Kelly C — 27 Sep 2008
The Jane Austen Club is a light hearted look on the lives of members of a book club who seem to take on the persona of various Jane Austen characters. The group first gets together and all have their "story" that you know each will learn more about as time goes on.
Each month the group meets and their interests are sparked by the relationships and choices Austen's characters make, and how they influence their own lives and choices. The older woman younger man angle is interesting as is the couple who are learning to live apart after 20+ years of marriage.
Men at first were not invited to the club but one, Grigg, who grew up with sisters seems to find his niche in this group. Its a good flick to make you think of the characters in your favorite books and if they are your favorites because they do or dont do as you would.
Great acting from alot of familiar actors.
