Review of The Jane Austen Book Club (2007) by Pat H — 12 Mar 2009

It's a chick flick. So you've got to expect happy endings for everybody. What really made this movie for me? The guy in the bookclub was a total sci-fi geek, and the little bit of the science fiction convention he was at (it was just a very little bit).

I was just very tickled by it; I don't know whether it added anything to the movie or not, but I rather liked it. I think there's a pretty sizable section of sf/fantasy fandom who are also Austen fans, so it was a neat touch.
