I never really felt we got to know any of the characters in this film. Found it quite difficult to see the parallels with the characters in the Jane Austen novels too - Emma was obvious, and maybe Fanny Price, but beyond that the comparisons seemed to be a bit tenuous.
It was okay but I wouldn't rush to watch it again.
