Review of The Jacket (2005) by Winnie C — 26 Jan 2011
Strange casting. Daniel Craig as an asylum inmate, Kris Kristofferson as a looney doctor, Kiera Knightley as a girl who has had abusive mother issues and Adrien Brody as an Iraq vet framed for a cop killing.
Actually, they all pull it off quite well, and as much as Brody still isn't the action movie type, the meat and potatoes of carrying this fall on his shoulders. Knightley acts quite well in this (for a change) but what really knocks this down is the underuse of Jennifer Jason Leigh and the far fetched concept.
The whole time travel thing is never really explained, which gets annoying when so much of the plot depends on it.
