Review of The Jackal (1997) by Rikke J — 28 Aug 2007
The Jackal has the privilege of containing one of the worst written, worst conceived, and worst executed sequences in the history of cinema. If you've seen the film, you might guess which one it is - YES, when Bruce Willis tests his inordinately huge machine gun (quite the stealthy assassin) on Jack Black who plays a nerdy guy who keeps asking annoying questions about what he needs the gun for.
So, Willis takes him out to a field, sets up the guy, asks Jables to "RUN!" and then tells him he's kidding, and then gets him to hold up a cigarette packet... to which he blows his arm off.
And Jack Black gives an unintentionally hilarious reaction shot that would be better suited in the 'Sexx Laws' clip he was in "AIIIIHHHH." Amidst the poor editing and the ham-bone score, then Willis decides to put Jack Black out of his misery (probably tired of holding his arm behind his back) and then blows him up! Fuck, dudes.
Did I mention Richard Gere also has a shitty Irish accent in this?
