Review of The Italian Job (2003) by Manuel P — 29 Mar 2012
When I was younger, after seeing this movie for the first time I seriously thought "Yeah that film was the Shit!". These days however I just look at it and say "Yeah that movie is shit".
I enjoy a good Heist flick, and they're one style of film where I'm not too fussed if the story is a lil complicated. In fact complication in a heist film actually betters the experience. Adds to it.
Twists and turns, ups and down. You wanna be just as shocked as the poor sod getting robbed. After my most recent experience watching the Italian job I felt like I was the one being robbed. The simple, dumbed down story aside, the cast who are all entirely capable of amazing performances come up well short.
I doubt anyones hearts, cast or crew went into this one.
