I have such a tough time with Russian cinema, but it was the plot that intrigued me. Overall, I found that the little boy who plays Vanya is the only reason I found this movie bearable. Otherwise I found it to be terribly dreary and sloth-like in it's pace; that is until it all gets wrapped up too neatly in the last 10 minutes.
