Review of The Isle (2000) by Craig M — 24 Jun 2007
Set on small houseboats on even smaller man made lakes, these little isles can be a scary enough setting in starless nights. The lead actress is haunting in her silence, never uttering a word yet reflecting her obsession for a new tenant.
Her jealousy the catalyst for things going down hill fast. A truely harrowing scene when the object of her obsession swollows five fishing hooks leading to a nice metaphor when she has to fish him up.
In typical Korean style moving from light hearted to shocking.
