Review of The Island (2006) by Renee S — 01 Aug 2013
A seeming remake of "Logan's Run", this film is fairly interesting with Scarlett being the main attraction. Michael Bay makes a passable film but I think his special features, if not his films, are ego-driven. Clones are kept for the purposes of transplants and are stored in a secret world in which they are given false promises of winning a lottery trip to an island.
One skeptical clone intervenes to save another who will be sacrificed for their sponsor's sake and the two of them run off. They are chased and eventually caught but gain their freedom and the freedom of other clones and that is where the story ends. 8/10.
