Review of The Island (2005) by Valeria P — 14 Jan 2012
Just ok. The second half relies too much on CGI for my taste and not enough on plot. For instance, the ethical dilemma that Jordan faces would be much more interesting to see played out than the one Lincoln has.
It is a non-dilemma: "hummm, should I sacrifice my life for a philandering asshole? No". Not much of a struggle here. In her case, she is supposed to replace a dying mother. Would she sacrifice herself for the happiness of a child she doesn't know? That should have been the movie.
