Review of The Island (1980) by Martin D — 24 Dec 2009

So from the outside, this definitely looks like a crap fest...and the begining of the movie doesn't do much to convince you otherwise. Once it gets going though it's lots of fun. I thouroughly enjoyed this flick and Michael Caine just sweetens the pot for me.

A journalist goes to investigate mysterious boat disappearances and ends up stranded on a remote island and subsequently captured by inbred pirates! What it lacks in special effects it certainly makes up for in character - go ahead.
