Review of The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath! (1976) by Kazybek D — 30 Jan 2010
A wonderfully warm and humourous film. There are also some lovely musical parts set to poetry of Pasternak, Akhmadulina, Tsvetaeva, and others. Apparently, the film is traditionally broadcast in Russia every new year's eve.
I would certainly recommend it as a nice alternative to the traditional repeats we have in the UK at the end of every year - e.g. The Great Escape, or It's A Wonderful Life.
