Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Louis T — 05 Apr 2013
I had such high hopes for this film but they were blown out the window due to distracting camera angles and poor dramatic techniques instead of looking at the real issues Thatcher faced. Streep's acting is, as usual, second to none but this is overshadowed by a weak script.
No issue is covered in depth whether it be the IRA bombings or the Falklands war which deserve so much more attention as an integral part of British history. This film also mocks a woman who is still alive now and portrays her as close to death and almost insane.
This film is only good if you would like to know a base knowledge to Thatcher's Britain and if you want to see an American style make-over montage.
