Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Heather M — 28 Jul 2013
I never imagined I'd pity Maggie Thatcher. I suppose storytelling through a series of old-age fragmented and rather confused sentimental memories in the grip of early Alzheimer's can have that affect.
Disappointingly it did lack the requisite political gusto one might expect. Streep was textbook though perhaps a tad dull in her portrayal, Grant well camouflaged for a change, and Broadbent admirably entertaining as posthumous Denis Thatcher.
