Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Jack S — 27 Apr 2013
Solid portrayal of the British PM. It starts a little slowly, and spends a too much time dithering with Thatcher and her husband's old age; but the movie manages to capture the major events of Thatcher's political career (albeit superficially) - the miner's strike, the Falklands War, the poll tax, the end of the Iron Curtain, and the rise of the EU, as well as Thatcher's ultimate political demise.
Personally, I would have liked to see a better portrayal of the 1980s; maybe there should have been some Duran Duran music or something. Also missing was significant figures from the 1980s - no mention of Reagan, Queen Elizabeth, or Lady Di, or Thatcher's key Labor opponents.
So, a good movie for political buffs, but there was definitely some things missing.
