Review of The Iron Ladies (2000) by Rainbow I — 12 Jun 2009

This is a typical sports movie filled with typical sports movie cliches - an underdog team of misfits learns how to work together, beating the favourites and forging friendships, yadda yadda yadda. It is also a typical kathoey movie filled with typical kathoey camp characterizations - much of the humour derives from the screaming queens of the court flouncing around like marionettes.

And yet the entire charming package is so thoroughly entertaining that this is easily one of the best Thai comedies released in the West so far.
