Review of The Iron Giant (1999) by Cameron J — 04 May 2011
"The last of the great two dimensional animation" is a statement that many who have watched this film would agree with. It's beautiful, clever and sends a heart warming message to the young target audience intended.
This film dosen't follow the conventions of others kiddie animations and this is mainly because of it's subject matter, man falling in love with machine, a bond between two with heart, the sadness of something lost and the fact that everybody has the chance to take whatever path they desire, whether it's for good or evil, is for the person in question to decide.
