Best American animation besides Disney and Pixar and my favorite Brad Bird film by far. Gorgeous looking for time and place. Like a genuine 50s Warner Bros cartoon, give all the time, money and love in the world.
Well-written characters, driven less by quirks more by subtly. And deep affections for a metal robot makes this way better than ET as far as kid and alien friendships go.
