Review of The Irishman (2019) by Arkhamsandwich — 27 Nov 2019
This film is a perfect example of what happens when the greats work past their prime. The 1st act is good, but then Al Pacino chews the scenery and the film gets boring and bogged down in a political drama.
The CGI is incredible when making Robert De Niro more youthful, yet completely lazy and half-assed with simple things like glass breaking, or someone getting shot; there were scenes in which I couldn't tell whether I was watching Scorsese or Sharknado.
Practical effects would have not only been cheaper to produce, but better looking. This movie was 2 hours too long.
