Review of The Ipcress File (1965) by Tom N — 31 Jul 2007
I really enjoyed this film as it highlighted what sort of styles an older spy film had and also what filming was like back in 1965. The camera work was surprisingly good with many well placed shots such as through a window of a phone booth, through glasses and other objects.
The casting couldn't have been better, but clearly Michael Caine steals the show with one of his first lead roles. Overall I really enjoyed this film, it may be a bit slow in places but still it's a really good film for its time.
