Review of The Ipcress File (1965) by Simon W — 27 May 2007
Based on Len Deighton's book - the spy/espionage thing generally isn't something I go for, but I'd rate this as one of Michael Caine's portrayal of Harry Palmer is easily one of his best 'serious' roles.
Manages to capture the atmosphere of the Cold War and 1960s London beautifully, with superb music courtesy of John Barry. If you liked this, you'd probably enjoy 'Get Carter' (the 1969 version, not the version with Stallone).
