Review of The Ipcress File (1965) by Nick L — 22 Jun 2007
Superb spy thriller, in which Caine plays anti-Bond Harry Palmer in a downbeat, grubby escapade, never knowing who is worse - his enemies or those on his own side. Sly digs at the class system, an unforgettable score by John Barry, idiosyncratic direction from one-shot wonder Furie and a great supporting cast all go towards making this one of the best films of the 1960s.
