Review of The Invitation (2016) by Aïko G — 17 Apr 2016
The invitation is a great tension-high thriller. I see the movie as two parts. One part I was constantly guessing why there is such a strange vibe throughout the dinner party. Paranoia is the best way to describe a lot of these scenes.
The second part is where it all comes together and you see how they try to survive. They way it gently guides you towards the ending climax is brilliant. The tension is building perfectly in the first part and released just as perfect in the ending part.
You know what is going on but you are always unsure. The very last moment of the Invitation is creepy, but felt unnecessary for me. You want a "sit at the tip of your chair' movie, this is one to watch.
