Its enthusiastic climax and occasionally stunning yet effective cinematography aside, The Invitation fails do add anything truly new to the genre, with its reliable performances not able to overcome its slower-than-adviced and ultimately rushed pacing -- though it has a lot if thought-provoking ideas and its conclusion will leave room for satisfaction.
