Review of The Invitation (2016) by Tree E — 12 Mar 2017
The movie is heavy with character development, and dialogue. Which I didn't mind; but, I can see where a few individuals will not like this in a psychological thriller. The first hour of the movie is really trying to set everything up. Which I believe it is a little long. However, after the first hour, that is when things really take a turn, and your eyes stay glued to the screen.
The movie does a great job at setting up nail biting tension, something creepy with our main characters, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Starts out a little slow, but that's what adds to the films tension. It does a good job of building up the suspense.
It also has a great ending, and this is one of the best independent psychological thrillers I have seen in awhile.
This film is available on Netflix at the moment, and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the genre.
