Review of The Invisible Woman (2013) by Lincoln K — 25 Jan 2014
The story of Charles Dickens's marital infidelities at a time of his life when his oldest children were adults themselves. The excitement of this film, for me, was the cinematography. Frame after frame, the film recreated the colors and faithfulness to detail of pre-Raphaelite paintings.
In one frame, Felicity Jones re-posed Madox Brown's controversial painting, "Take your son, sir" and presaged a plot point that would occur soon in the film.
