Review of The Invisible Woman (2013) by Bill K — 03 Feb 2014
Interesting that the critics loved this film for the most part, and the audience was lukewarm. Of course, sex, violence and fast action were in short shrift. This is primarily a play shot on film. As such, it moves more slowly than most films. But it was beautiful in the way it was so lovingly, tenderly treated. Felicity Jones (based on her acting in this film) should be considered as an equal with Meryl Streep, and Julia and her peers (Keira Knightly). In short, this is a spectacular film: gorgeously shot, beautifully acted and a superb screenplay. We LOVED IT. One of the best films of the year!!!
(Dickens fans - don't miss it...and re-read "Great Expectations").
