Probably the best of all the films we have seen this year. It is a chamber piece, beautifully filmed and wonderfully acted. The sexual politics are interesting and casual stereotypes avoided.
Ralph Fiennes drove the whole thing as director and the Great Man,.Tom Hollander, Felicity Jones and Kirsten Scott-Thomas were very good but it was the tragic dignity of mrs Dickens played by Joanna Scanlon, that moved me greatly.
