Review of The Invisible War (2012) by Andrew P — 02 Mar 2013
Kirby Dick is a great storyteller especially when it comes to scathing indictments. Just watch THIS FILM IS NOT YET RATED to see what I'm talking about. These stories are heartbreaking and should infuriate anyone who sees how these people, both men and women, have Ben treated by the military and the government.
This issue should never exist in the military. There's no excuse for it. The fact that so many soldiers aren't held accountable for their actions because of how bad it will look for the military is deplorable.
I think any person whose response to someone claiming sexual assault by another soldier, if they say anything other then point them out to me and they are going to wish they were dead, that person should experience exactly what these people have gone through right then and there.
Because the only response to the words, "I was raped," should be "I will make sure that the person who did this to you is brought to justice, made an example of, and will never be able to do this to another person for as long as they live as they will be in prison for the rest if their life.
" That is the only thing that should be said and then should happen along with that soldier and the military being held responsible for any and all medical problems associated with the attack. These victims deserve better.
I hope the military realizes this and soon.
