Review of The Invisible War (2012) by Marty L — 17 May 2013
This is a horrible film. Yes is exposes the problem of sexual assault in the military and yes it is a problem, just it like it is everywhere. The film makes it seem like sexual assault is something everyone does and accepts which is not true.
Whenever you take people from all walks of life from all over the country and place them far away from home, things happen. In 16 years, I have yet to be witness to a legit sexual assault, although sexual harassment might be a bigger problem.
I have been apart of many court martials, many sex related, but it's mostly been abuse of power by NCOs/Officers having sex with subordinates. The problem is and always will be, you make it Co-ed and you live in a society that says F- morals, and stuff like this is going to happen.
The film is very powerful, but it is very biased. Even most of the females watching the movie called BS. BTW, the entire based was forced to watch this. Worth seeing, but just like every other political documentary, very skewed.
