This was a very engaging documentary. They really captured the fervor of Theranos and the salesmanship of Elizabeth Holmes. I was totally ready to drink the Kool-Aid, as testing is outrageously expensive and I'm not fan of only two companies being in the game.
We got to watch as it all fell apart and in the end it asked a lot more questions than it answered. Number one, who was dumb enough to buy that a college drop-out with no degrees knew better how to do advanced medical testing better than doctors and the companies that had set the standards? I'd say Elizabeth Holmes was a conwoman, but I think she really had faith in her ability to deliver.
Last I heard, though, she said "I don't know" 600 times in a deposition. She's the Bernie Maddoff of the medical testing industry.
