Review of The Invention of Lying (2009) by Stephen H — 21 Mar 2012
A strange mishmash of formulaic romantic comedy and brilliant satire. Gervais is good at having the laughs be at his expense, and the power he draws from ability to lie results in some great humor. In the end, the love story conventions outweigh the originality and make it less successful.
